Moving forward
This website was created to help dispel negative news about our community and provide some resources for our residents and businesses that have been challenged by the new economy.
The truth is, Sioux Falls and South Dakota continue to prosper despite negative economic trends in the national economy. The Sioux Falls Development Foundation and Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce continue their missions to expand economic development and enhance the quality of life of the Sioux Falls area.
Since 1987, Forward Sioux Falls has pushed a pro-business attitude through Forward Sioux Falls. One thing we've learned is that we must continue to adapt and diversify -- and our community reflects that.
After five successful programs, we're looking ahead to our sixth Forward Sioux Falls program, which would hold its kick-off in November 2010 and begin in April 2011. While that is still several months away, we're planning a major community economic development strategy planning process this September, which will help shape our sixth program. We will be working with Market Street Services, a community and development consulting firm, to conduct a comprehensive, broad strategic planning process for Sioux Falls.
We still have much to look forward to in Sioux Falls, despite this bump in the road. We continue to make progress in many areas of our community. Most importantly, we continue to work together to ensure that progress carries on.
